Metabolic syndrome in the elderly

Abstract

The article analyzes modern concepts of the pathogenesis, diagnosis and impact on the prognosis of metabolic syndrome in the elderly. The prevalence of metabolic syndrome in this category of patients is analyzed. An overview of modern potential of non-drug and drug therapy of metabolic syndrome is given, taking into account the requirements for the management of geriatric patients.
