Dear colleagues!

In the second issue, we succeeded in collecting a series of original and review articles, extremely interesting from a practical standpoint, on the widest range of relevant cardiology themes. The rapid development of medicine in general and cardiology in particular creates conditions under which it is impossible to follow the data flow and be aware of all modern achievements, relying only on original articles.

Therefore, the reviews are becoming more and more relevant genre, which is the only way to keep up to date. The original studies published in this issue are devoted to predicting the sinus rhythm maintenance after radiofrequency ablation, the effect of withdrawing long-term CPAP therapy on the course of obstructive sleep apnea, and, finally, another analysis of the Russian pulmonary embolism register SIRENA.

Review articles are devoted to biomarkers of cardiovascular complications in COVID-19, the problem of hypotension in hypertensive patients, the current state of pharmacoinvasive strategy in myocardial infarction, the introduction of sodium glucose cotransporter type 2 inhibitors into cardiology practice, the role of cardiac extracellular matrix in heart failure pathogenesis.

Separately, it is worth highlighting a review on sleep-related breathing disorders in patients with heart failure, in the first (published in this issue) part of which the classification, epidemiology and pathophysiology are considered.

A systematic review/meta-analysis compares in situ versus composite bi-mammary coronary artery bypass grafting.

And finally, a resolution of the Volga Federal District experts on the EMPEROR-Reduced trial was published.

We hope that this issue will be useful to the widest range of cardiologists. We invite those who wish to cooperate.
